Figure of Odin

The figure from Torslunda Helmet Matrix 2 and the two Dancing Warriors from the Sutton Hoo helmet depict Odin (or a figure representing him) wearing a helmet with two bird’s necks and heads – his ravens Hugin and Munin (memory and thought).

A similar image appears on the “Fallen Warrior” Helmet Plates from Valsgärde graves VII and VIII. The helmet is missing in the “Fallen Warrior” Helmet Plate from Sutton Hoo.

The seated figure from Lejre shows Odin seated on a throne with Hugin and Munin either side of him.
