Stora Hammars I

The Stora Hammars I stone has six panels containing mythological, religious and martial background.

The scenes include

1) a panel depicting a woman between two men.

2) a panel showing a horse, two swords and three figures.

3) a panel showing a sacrifice scene with a Valknut over an altar.

4) a panel showing a woman standing between a longship manned with armed warriors and another group of armed men

5) a panel showing a battle scene.

6) a panel showing A Viking ship

The stone has been interpreted as illustrating the legend of Hildr and its never-ending battle.
